Virginia Real Estate Continuing Education

These online continuing education real estate online courses and real estate post license online courses are approved by the Virginia Real Estate Board. Be sure to take the correct courses. Act Web Real Estate School Inc., based in Reston, VA is approved by DPOR. Our real estate license number is 0211 000407.

Virginia Post License - online course (30 hour package) -Required within the first year from the date your Virginia license was issued. Package deal at low cost.First year real estate renewal is due one year from the date you were licensed (not the end of the month).

Virginia Continuing Education - online course (16 hours) - For second and all subsequent renewals, This is a state-approved online 16 hour course of continuing education that is required every 2 years. The course includes all 8 hours of mandatory topics and 8 hours of elective subjects. It consists of a review of real estate concepts and rules. At the end of the course, there is a multiple choice test, which can be taken over if you don't pass at no extra cost. The course is Virginia state approved. You can log in and out whenever you want.  This course includes the credit hours needed every 2 years (for all agents licensed before 2004 and 2nd time or later renewals. If you have preivously renewed, you should take the 16 hour continuing education course for Virginia real estate agents.

If you do not have a license, you need to take the Principles of Real Estate course and pass the state exam.

All courses are approved by the Virginia Real Estate Board.

The courses here are approved Virginia real estate courses. The courses are offered by Act Web Services in cooperation with REcampus and Dearborn, the nation's largest provider of real estate training materials. .

Here are the detailed continuing education requirements for those who need the 16 hour course.

  • 8 of the 16 CE hours shall include training in these required topics:
    • Ethics and Standards of Conduct
    • Legal Updates and Emerging Trends
    • Real Estate Agency
    • Real Estate ContractsFair Housing Laws (minimum of 2 hours, which also includes an update on current cases and administrative decisions under Fair Housing Laws)
  • The other 8 hours are "elective" courses in real estate-related subjects.
